Monteverde Institute

Since 1986, the Monteverde Institute has hosted education abroad programs and been engaged in community development and conservation projects in Monteverde. MVI is a founding member of the Bellbird Biological Corridor local advisory council and very engaged with the CORCLIMA initiative in Monteverde.

In addition to her role as the MVI director, Debra Hamilton, founded the Costa Rican Conservation Foundation to promote reforestation within the Bellbird Biological Corridor. Since 2001, the CCF has planted over 123,000 trees and worked to protect over 80 hectares of forest.

ALAP is seeking university partners to collaborate with expansion of CCF reforestation initiatives in the lower elevation region of the Bellbird Biological Corridor.
