Guanacaste Community Fund
The Guanacaste Community Fund works with many NGOs throughout the ALAP focal area on the Nicoya Peninsula in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica. GCF supports ALAP by helping us network with the many NGOs engaged in reforestation, agro-forestry, forest reserve protection, and other carbon offset initiatives. GCF is also able to receive and manage donations (both as a registered 501(c)3 in the USA and within Costa Rica) for project funding.
In addition to establishing our connection with Restoring Our Watershed, GCF has helped build relationships with community water associations, ASADAS, throughout the Nicoya Peninsula (see graphic below). ASADAS are responsible for protecting local springs and water sources and provide water distribution to rural communities throughout Costa Rica.
